God is Love.

I'm ripping it up on this wedding wave right now. What a magical weekend. The union of Sarah & Jason could not have been more perfect, they are truly a match made in heaven.

My Dad said something at the rehearsal dinner that really stuck with me. He said, 'God is love and God is here tonight.'

Wow. For me, I always believed God looked like King Triton from the Little Mermaid minus the fins. I could sit on his knee and tell him about my desires and my fears. If I believed He would take care of me, then He would. If I doubted Him, then I would find myself continuing on a path of anxiety and sadness. This childlike thought process worked out for me, but it took a long time. I believed in God, but it wasn't until a year or so ago before I truly 'trusted' and understood Him. Had I heard my Dad's simple words years ago, it might have made God easier to understand. Thanks for holding out on me, Dad.

Religions can be intimidating, radicals are scary, Bible verses are sometimes confusing, but when you think of God as 'Love', as that wonderful feeling of magic where no problem is large enough to overtake your happiness or bring you down, it brings an entirely new way of understanding who and what God really is. You could have walked into Sarah & Jason's reception, grabbed the microphone and told everyone that they had lost every penny in their bank account and I don't think anyone would have been fazed. Everyone would have known that there was a way out of it, no problem was large enough to overtake the joy we were feeling right then and there. There was so much love, so much comfort; the wonderful, amazing feeling of not being judged or scared. That's what God is. Thank you Sarah and Jason for helping us all to remember that. You shared a bit of your Godliness with us on your wedding day.

Love you guys so much! Can't wait to celebrate the first wedding anniversary. Can we go somewhere cool like Belize or Puerto Rico? Costa Rica! Cabo? Portugal? France? Thailand! Oh I know...!

Love,
