HELLA-WEEN!!!!
Tis' the season to get weird. I used to think of Halloween as a chore and most of all, I didn't like how it went from scary to slutty. One year, just to show how much I detested Halloween's sex factor, I decided to dress as an actual hooker and mock everyone. Well guess what, nobody got the joke and I ended up walking around in 30 degree weather dressed as the biggest slut of all. Perfect. Thankfully my silly, defiant attitude evaporated somewhere between college and the real world and finally I began to embrace Halloween. From Lady Gaga, to Kendra from the Girls Next Door (with a lil help from my sisters and brother-in-law aka Hef), to Dorothy, and most recently a dominatrix-style 'I Dream of Genie', I finally realized that a) I really am pretty slutty and b) dressing up is fun! So if you haven't had an enjoyable Halloween yet, then let loose. Forget about everything else and be someone else for a day. Don't judge (ever). Drink too much alcohol. Dance with your friends. Get silly. Take lots of pics and most of all, SMILE!!! After all, you don't want your grandkids to see dom-I Dream of Genie with a frown do you? No, master.

Black & Red

Black and red.  A color combo my feet have been lusting after for years.  And then I got pregnant, twice, and found myself in the dreaded market for a double stroller.  And when I say dreaded, I mean dreaded.  I mean putting my hands on a double Bob stroller at Right Start and having a melt down, lump in throat, stormed out shaking my head.  Have you seen that thing???  So after doing some research I found her.  And I am shocked to say this black and red baby (phil & teds vibe) made me really happy, almost as happy as my black n red shoes...ALMOST.  Kids change things, but not everything!!

And well because I am still me, here's another black and red beauty I NEED.

Elin Kling for Marciano

I have been following Elin Kling's blog for a while and have been searching for her laid back, "...I don't care what I look like...but I always look amazing...", kind of thing she seems to always pull off. Well ladies get ready, because from the looks of it this collaboration is going to be insane! Now available online, and in stores on November 1st.

Lil Heart-breaker

Yesterday I ran a quick errand to buy and deliver some baby food for my sweet Mama's boy, Driscoe. He and his nanny were at the library for story time so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to surprise him with his favorite person, moi! I worried a little that he might get upset when I had to leave, but decided to go anyways. I laugh now as I type that because I could not have been more wrong. My little 'mama's boy' was feeling too cool for ol' mom!
I mean really!? Already?? This is happening too soon, right? I seriously looked like THAT mom. The one who's nanny has a closer connection with their child than they do. Fortunately that is not the case, but it sure felt like it when he didn't even walk over to my leg and reach up for me to hold him like he usually does, & I swear he usually does! I get it though; there were cool tots everywhere, why would I expect anything more than a cheeky little grin?
I say this half joking & half serious. Of course I'm happy he is not a stage 5 clinger that only wants his mother and no one else (lie), but I know one day I'll have to beg for hugs and kisses from him, so until then, while he is only 23 pounds and 30 something inches tall, I will continue to grab his little butt and force him to hug his mama! Which I did, and he wanted down, immediately. Sigh.

Good Morning Sunshine

Drink

My awesome trainer, Anna, shared with me her favorite go to breakfast on the run.

Ingredients:
6-8 oz of brewed coffee (I love Araya's coffee, Conception Pixcaya, french press)
1 1/2 cups of ice
1 serving of vanilla or chia protein powder (I love XYMOGEN EP http://www.xymogen.com/products/category-detail-xymogen-ep.aspx I buy it at Dr. Smedstad's office)
1 banana (optional)
2 packages of stevia (optional) my protein powder has stevia, so I omit the stevia

Mix coffee, ice, protein powder in a Vitamix or Hand protein shaker to desired texture.

It makes for the perfect breakfast on the go, gastro cleanser and complete breakfast.

L.A. Market Trip

Market's are always so much fun; you get to bring out all your fashion pieces and see how you measure up. Here are the outfits that got me through last week in L.A. Thank god for layering; they happened to be having a heat wave the week we landed.

Jacket: Iro, Tank: Velvet, Clutch: Zara, Coated denim: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Steve Madden.
*Parker (the puppy pictured) obviously did not want me to go.
This jacket is so much fun, you can very easily dress it up or have even more fun with it and pair it with a pair of cut off shorts and a tank. Having a fall back statement piece in your closest is a must!
I am clearly obsessed with Urban's coated denim. They have the best fit, with a little more of a rise and the dye is insane! They are offered in 3 colors: red, blue, and green & I own them all.
Sweater: Forever21, Necklace: Forever21, Skirt: BCBG, Shoes: Steve Madden.
The most comfortable trend right now would have to be the wedge sneaker. I can't get enough of it; they add a little edge to every outfit.
Anything Raquel Allegra puts her name on turns to gold. I love her whole aesthetic; every piece you buy is able to be layered many different ways.
Who doesn't need a super cute airport outfit, you never know who you might see. These booties are my go to when I need just a little pick me up for my outfit.

Inspirational Pieces

While strolling through the Texas Contemporary Art Fair this weekend; divine intervention took place and I found myself face to face with this beauty. I couldn't help but relate to the group of girls in front of me; I immediately pictured all of us in each of the girls. Their crazy cool style, love for food/good wine, and especially their "Bring It" attitude said with nothing more than their expression. This painting has definitely left it's mark on me and now I too, am left with that same "Bring It" attitude. Here are a few other pieces that are too good not to share.
