bohoBOOZE…Lamole Chianti Classico 2009

i am swooning over this vino!  LAMOLE chianti Classico 2009
i drink it at Coppa Osteria but i am sure you can find it at Specs!
i am usually not a BIG chianti fan but this one in particular is a yummy beauty!

88 Points | International Wine Cellar , August 2012
Bright ruby-red.  Red cherry and dark berries on the nose, with complicating notes of anise and musky herbs.  Sappy and focused, offering gently sweet blackberry and red cherry pie flavors and showing no rough edges.  Not particularly long or complex, but easygoing and accessible now, finishing with good breadth and decent sweetness.

----- i love "Sappy and focused" … "showing no rough edges"----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{NESTING} Nursery and Toddler Room Inspiration Pics

I'm finally starting to nest! Sweet relief!
Up until last week the idea of cleaning out rooms, buying bunk beds, and getting together old baby clothes sounded SO daunting and exhausting. Honestly, I don't know what was more stressful, the thought of doing that or the fact that I had ZERO desire? It was stressing me out that I wasn't stressed out, talk about irrational.  So needless to say, the sudden desire to get things done is very much welcomed and exciting!

Now its time for inspiration pics! I lived on Spearmintbaby.com when I was preggers with Driscoe trying to get ideas of how I would create his nursery. Thankfully, I still really like his room which will be the new baby's room, so I can mark paint and curtains off the list. I also still love his crib and changing table, so we can check those 2 items off as well. Except, I want to paint his crib red like the pic below. Is that safe? Does anyone know? Surely they have paint that is safe for cribs?

Once we paint the crib, all I really need to do is clean out the closet and add wall decorations to really make this room super special for Driscoe's baby brudda. Oh and buy him his first pair of moccasins, totally unrelated, so what.
Nursery Inspiration

Nursery Inspiration by bohoblack featuring round rugs
Round Rug (CB2, $329), Pendleton Throw Pillow (Etsy, $58), Dreamcatcher Print (Etsy, $20), Indian Basket (Navajorugsindianbaskets.com) Chevron Changing Pad (Etsy, $46), Freshly Picked Moccasins ($60), I'll Love you Forever Canvas Painting (Etsy, $55) Jenny Lind DaVinci Crib (Diapers.com, $199)

I'm really into all the dream-catchers and Indian arrow decor, it reminds me of searching for Arrowheads in Utah with my Grandpa and Uncle Ben.
Oh, and the, "I'll love you forever…." painting seriously makes me tear up. I read that book for the first time when I was in Utah with my mom and all of my Aunts, I was probably 8. They ALL cried. I remember it like it was yesterday, all of my crazy Aunts in our van wiping tears away from a children's book? Sure it was sweet, but I just didn't get it. Well, I read it right after I had Driscoe and criiiiiied my big ol eyes out too, just like my Aunts. It really comes full circle doesn't it? I already bought the painting, I couldn't resist.

Now to Driscoe's Big Brother room!!
Driscoe's Big Boy Room

Driscoe's Big Boy Room by bohoblack featuring Pier 1 Imports
Tripod floor lamp (Target, $65), Striped Rug (tillys.com, $49), Bean Bag Chair (Pier 1, $99), ABC wall art (Land of Nod,  $20), 123 Kid Shelving (Land of Nod), Kid Magnet Boards (Land of Nod), Kid Toy Box (Land of Nod, $297), Storage Basket (Land of Nod, $25), Throw Blanket (Land of Nod) Lacquer 4 Dresser (Houzz.com) Industrial Bunk Beds (Remodelista.com)
I'm SUPER excited about this. We decided to do bunk beds because my dad spends the night with us pretty often, so we definitely wanted to keep a spot for him to crash when he needs it. So twin over full is a MUST. We haven't found the bunk beds yet, but I like the color of these and the simplicity. Everything else really speaks for itself. I want Driscoe to be able to play in his room so MAYBE we can have part of our living room back, pfffhhhh who am I kidding? Regardless, I shall entertain that idea and make sure he has plenty of toy boxes and storage. I have a lot more to do in this room since its currently our guest room/storage unit of baby stuff from the past 2.5 years. It also needs paint, I'm thinking of sticking with the same gray from his nursery, plus one accent chalkboard/magnet wall like we did in the kitchen

Now the hunt and bargain shopping begins! I love Land of Nod, but I don't love all of their prices. I'm sure I can find majority of these items between Ikea, Etsy, & Target. Well, maybe not the lacquer dresser, but Daron can spray paint and lacquer with the best of em, so maybe a re-sale furniture store for that! I'll keep you posted on all my findings and nesting progress!!

Side Note: Please say a lil prayer for my nanny's daughter who had her baby 3 months early this past Sunday. Her son is in the NICU doing great, thankfully he was already a 3 pound baby, but as you can imagine it's still a very scary and serious situation, and unimaginably hard on the mom as she has to leave him every night. Her Grandson's name is Daniel.

T h a i P e p p e r L o v e… bohoEATS

i love {spicy} food!  I am that one that thinks she can handle a 5 when asked how spicy i want my entree... sometimes that bites me in the ass.  I have been cooking more stir fry lately and when I read the ingredients on some Asian condiments bottles, there were some creepy unhealthy things listed!  So, i Made my Own--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is how to make your OWN!

Please wear gloves when chopping chiiles… i didn't and my hands burned for days…. REALLY!

1small shallot, sliced
1 garlic clove finely chopped
13 fresh Thai chilies, sliced

Sneaker Head // Nike // Golden Goose

Every year we travel to Europe I end up wearing 1 piece wayyy more than anticipated. Last year it was the incredible stretchy pants by Citizens. This year it was my Golden Goose sneakers, that I promise you I wore EVERY DAY I was there. From Rome to Paris I never needed or wanted anything else. Although, it looked a bit odd with some of my more dressier outfits; but hey when in Rome!

Summer wardrobe:
yes please!

Driscoe can write, I swear.....

Dear Uncle Jason,
I hope you have a great birthday today! Mommy tried to get me to sing the whole birthday song to you this morning, but I was too busy watching a video of trains going around a track to club music. Anyways, I sang a little, you can see it below.

I love you so much, I'm so blessed to have an Uncle like you! I know you will always have my back as I journey through life. I can always count on you for hugs and kisses and candy and cokes and a sweet pair of Jordan's for me and daddy!
Mommy and Daddy always say Uncle Jason loves you, but I already know that, you show me all the time! Oh, and thanks for being the best daddy in the world to my homeboys Dax and Mo. Now, I wonder how much candy this little note will get me……..
This much? ---------->

 Happy 40th Birthday Uncle Jason!!!

P.S. Grandpa Doug, Grandma oh dear, Dax and Mo have a message for you too!

We all love you so much!!!!

love, bohoDriscoe

Oh and a special shout out to my girlfriend, Caroline!!
Happy Birthday C$!
Mommy said she remembers the day you were born and said you were the tiniest, prettiest, little baby she'd ever seen! She can't believe you are 3! What's the big deal, it's not like we are driving yet? Think your mom and dad will let you ride with me, Dax & Mo??

Burn Baby Burn!

Holy heartburn and indigestion!!!!
I never had this with Driscoe so I'm probably being a huge baby, but whatever. I've been on the B.R.A.T. diet the past few days in an attempt to relieve this awful, miserable thing called indigestion, also known as a belly ache, and its the only thing that seems to be working. So basically I'm gonna eat bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast for the next 5 months. Oh joy.  Oh, and a bit of advice, tight pants do NOT help this situation. Tight pants when you are not pregnant? No big deal, you just gut through it, pun intended. However, when you are pregnant and you wear tight pants, the odds of you going completely ape shit because you are so uncomfortable are very high. In other words, I need maternity pants. I probably need a different diet too, which sucks because I'm obsessed with the crawfish from BB's Cafe, it is hands down the best in town, but it absolutely kills me.
But hey, I've got a baby that is kicking away in my belly, and these are just the many things that come with the territory of creating human life (amazing, right?!). The funny thing is, when he moves my stomach instantly feels better, it's so strange!
On another note, did you know you could download an app to listen to your baby's heartbeat?? I had no idea (thank you Robin!). I chose My Baby's Beat, there are quite a few apps, but this was the first one that popped up and the reviews were good. I was a little nervous to do this for fear I wouldn't find anything, so I made him move around first just to reassure myself. I only tried it a few times before I found that heartbeat just thumping away (Praise God!). I recorded it and listen to it everyday, but I admit I don't use the app as often as I thought I would, I guess because I feel him kicking so much? Regardless its nice to know I have the option versus waiting every four weeks.
Speaking of waiting, I haven't had an ultra sound since February! I finally get to see him tomorrow and I'm so excited! Now if they just had an app for that!
Ok, gonna go eat some bland food so I don't ruin the rest of my day! I'll leave you with a few pics of Driscoe putting stickers all over his feet, because where else would you put stickers? I love this child so much.

Happy Happiest Birthday, My Love

Over the past weeks, I have been working on making Caymus' First Playlist for his new IPOD!  i am stoked to give it to him today!  I feel like i have a good foundation of what he needs to start learning as far as Music goes… From Solid Gold Country to The Rolling Stones…  I want to be the one who introduces Music to him…  I love that little guy too much and couldn't be a happier human…

Today, my boy is 7!  My lucky number.  He was MVP last week at his Baseball game and couldn't be a sweeter son & big brother.  Cheers to you, Golden PIG!!! He requested Hugo's Chicken Enchiladas for his birthday dinner.

PROUD momma,

Long day? Do this dance.

Spicy Lime, Serrano Shrimp inspired from Tasting kitchen Venice, Beach bohoEATS

Lately, I have been craving Los Angeles and all of our fav restaurants!  Here is my version of the serrano shrimp pasta at Tasting Kitchen in Venice Beach, CA.

yields 4 servings\\\\\\\

1 box of quinoa spaghetti pasta, cooked
3 tablespoons Wright's of Texas Habanero Green Salsa Found here
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 large juicy limes, juiced
1 small box of organic spinach
3 tablespoons of organic olive oil
3 green onions, chopped
1 serrano pepper, chopped
s/p
15 shrimp, cleaned

Start boiling water for pasta-add pasta when water is at a boil.

Add green salsa, garlic, lime juice, 1/2 box of spinach, olive oil, green onions, serrano pepper and salt & pepper in food processor and pulse until it's a nice paste.  Add shrimp in a ziploc bag with paste, let marinate for 15 minutes in refrigerator.

In a sauté pan, add shrimp to medium high heat until shrimp is cooked all the way through-no pink!  Add pasta to pan and serve immediately.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Picture of Tasting Kitchen Dish!- i dream of it often….
