Tonight my brother and I along with a few of our good friends are flexing our adult muscles and going to see Bone Thugs n Harmony at House of Blues. I say ‘adult muscles’ because once a upon a time in Freeport my parents banned my brother’s Bone Thugs cassette tape along with The Simpsons, HBO, and MTV. It was the devil’s music. Well guess what mom and dad, tonight we’re going to see Bone Thugs and there’s nothing you can do about it! Devil’s music? They obviously never listened to 'Tha Crossroads'. As young, tough kids coming straight off the streets of Freeport, Krayzie, Layzie, Flesh, Wish and Bizzy Bone truly spoke to us… not really. I actually have trouble understanding any of their lyrics because they rap so fast but I still sing along to every 25thword and I love the familiarity of their voices. I feel a bit nostalgic just thinking about their tunes. The same way I feel when I hear the Mr. Roger’s or Eureeka’s Castle theme songs. I can’t wait. And to my brother: We’ll always have Bone Thugs.
BANG!
Nice Post!!
