Ode to Julia

Julie,

My dearest sister (sorry Sarah). Your 29th birthday came and went but the reminiscing hasn’t stopped. When I look back at the last 27 years that we’ve spent together I can’t help but shed a tear. The chicken-scratching, the biting, bickering, pinching, poking, hair-pulling, kicking, frogging, dead-legging, wrestling, chasing, scaring, and pranking good times all turned into plotting, planning, partying, depressing music listening, secret-telling, sneaking, concert-moshing, belly-laughing, house-wrapping, dancing, crazy-driving teenage fun. It kind of stops there because we haven’t really matured much since then so… HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Julia!!!! You really have become an amazing WOMAN! If I was Daron, I would have married you too. Him and Driscoe are lucky to have you as their queen! You’ve created such a loving home, it’s wonderful to see. And thank you for always letting me sandwich in between you guys during family couch-time.
PS, You guys are out of Easy Mac.

WE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU, bohoJuliaSalinasBertillion!!!!!

Love,

My weekend in pics

4th of July was pretty dreamy.

My friend Carla invited us to the coolest ranch in Magnolia.  I'm talking Architectural Digest type of Ranch, like nothing I have ever seen.  We needed it!!  I think these babies get a lil stir crazy, in turn making me a lotta super crazy.  New toys, new faces, lots of room to run and the most kid friendly home I've ever been in, we were in heaven!

Next stop was Jason's family's house for fireworks.  Every year his brother, friends and neighbors put on a show that is pretty amazing...people in Richmond Texas do not play around when it comes to fireworks.  I had no clue that the general public could buy cannons, rockets and explosives like this!  I'm still not sure that they can, but they get them and it's SO much fun.  Dax stayed up super late running around no shirt or shoes, drinking root beer and doing the funniest hip thruster dance that upstaged the fireworks show.  Or at least I thought it did ;)

We spent the rest of the weekend, just us 4 at a friends house in Galveston.  We took turns waking up early with the babies (or sleeping in), spent our days in the pool, and took lots of naps.  After the wild ones were in bed we cooked nice dinners and reminisced about our day!  Dreamy, just dreamy.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

i have completely converted to xylitol instead of sugar in all my baking and this Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is AH-MAZING!  i make them after dinner and they are ready so quickly!!!

yields 1 dozen cookies, perfect for a light dessert for your family

preheat oven 380 degrees
line a baking sheet with parchment paper

2/3 c plus 1/2 c organic oat flour

1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 teaspoons xylitol brown sugar, brown coconut sugar or sucanat i like idea sweet for xylitol, you can buy on amazon
4 tablespoons of xylitol
1/4 c organic hazelnuts ( i roast mine in the oven on a cookie sheet for 8 minutes on 350 degrees) optional
1/4 c organic walnuts ( i roast these as well) optional
1/2 c bittersweet chocolate chips ( good quality like Callebaut or Valhorna)
1 tablespoon of vanilla ( good quality like a Madagascar Vanilla)
2 tablespoons of coconut oil (make sure the coconut oil is for high heat)
3 tablespoons of organic milk (you could substitute with Almond Milk) i use whole raw milk

Mix all in a small bowl, refrigerate dough for 10 minutes to make the ingredients bind together, roll into balls and bake for 8 minutes or until golden brown.  Let cool for 10 minutes.

Let cookie sheet completely chill to use for next batch.

* you can add some vanilla protein powder to mixture

if you prefer pecans use pecans!!! i personally like the combination of hazelnuts and walnuts with the chocolate.

bohoBabies Making their Debut at Abejas.

Check out our oldest boy and only girl (soon to be oldest girl in September) make their very first model debut on Abejas' blog. I know as soon as you all see this model agencies all over will be scouting them out. So, in order to be fair to the rest of them just know they had a really great team pull all this together.

So stinking cute, I can't even handle it.
From left to right: Marlin (18 months), Caymus (6 years old), Gjelina (just turned 1 this month).

Caymus is such a loving and caring big brother. Boys watch out, this little girl is going to be under close watch as long as Caymus is around.

Go see more of super cute Marlin on Abejas' blog!

Mo is on the move!

In a few short days Mo will be 10 months old.  He is the sweetest, most laid back, loving baby I have ever been around.  And he's mine!!  I am so in love with everything about him.  In the last week he got his first 2 teeth and started to crawl.  I could watch him for days, he concentrates so hard to pick up those chubby lil arms.

Now the fun really begins, two little ones on the move!  When Dax was 10 months old I was almost 7 months pregnant...this time around I am ready to crawl all over the place.  Until I have to jump into a full sprint to chase his big brother.  :)

I love you Morris Anthony DeVon.
